Ahare | Short Film

Set in the aftermath of the COVID-19 lockdown, Ahare, directed by Ayan Acharyya, unfolds within the walls of an upscale apartment where two affluent couples gather for a lavish dinner. As they savor an elaborate meal, their conversation casually shifts between the devastating hardships faced by migrant workers during the pandemic and the taste of the chicken on their plates.

The suffering of millions becomes just another dinner-table topic, briefly acknowledged, quickly forgotten. Through sharp social satire and unsettling realism, Ahare explores privilege, apathy, and the quiet disconnect between comfort and compassion.
